Welcome DOTA 2 Enthusiast!
Following the success of the world wide known LAN multiplayer game DotA (Defense of the Ancients), DOTA 2 has became one of the most played and popular e-sports nowadays developed by Valve Corporation.
Not only that the game is FREE-to-PLAY, it showcases a lot improvements with regards to graphics and gameplay compared to its prequel, DotA. Most of our favorite heroes have major transformations afar from their original appearances. And now, one of the best features of DOTA 2, we can customize them using cosmetics items.
Cosmetics items are categorized into:
1. Loadout items (ex. equipments, couriers, wards etc.)
2. Consumable items ( ex. Treasures, gems, charms etc.)
3. Tournament items ( ex. Tickets, Pennants etc.)
4. Event items ( ex. Diretide, Frostivus etc.)
5. Others (ex. Pins, passes)
We will be focusing on basic kinds of Loadout items.
1. Equipment items- these are items you equip to your hero to add ambient or to change their looks during the game.
-Equipment items comes piece by piece or by set. Set items needs to unbundle for it to be equipped to your hero.
2. Courier - these are units that transport your items from shop to your heroes during the game. All Couriers are the same in terms of abilities and usage. Their unique appearances are sometimes the basis for selecting or using a different courier aside from the basic donkey.
3. Custom Wards- these are items placed in the map to give a better insight of the terrain during gameplay. Wards are sometimes mightier than the Divine Rapier. A well placed wards helps alot to a good team play.
Items have rarity properties that defines its customized looks. Rarer items tend to have more visual effects but does not have significant effect to gameplay. Item rarity are divided into 9 tiers namely:
1. Common
2. Uncommon
3. Rare
4. Mythical
5. Legendary
6. Immortal
7. Arcana
8. Ancient
9. Seasonal
Among the 9 rarities, Immortals and Arcanas are the most popular and expensive items available in Market and In-game due to its awesome visual/ambient effects.

Here are my top FREE DOTA 2 ITEMS sites:(Arranged according to my own personal assessment with regards to legitimacy and simple item redeeming process)
1. Gametame
For me the best free Dota 2 items site. All you need is to complete tasks, surveys and install apps and you'll get to earn points that you can later use to redeem items. 2. DadConan Yet, the simplest of all the sites featured. Earn coins (DC) by logging in everyday, opening lucky cards (app) and joining the bonus code. With enough points, you can redeem immos and other rare items for your heroes. 3. Dota247 The challenging for me, coz everyday, you'll have a chance to win good items by spinning the roulette then to win extra items, you'll just need to join and win a match betting game. |
4. Dota 2 Double
Another challenging site like Dota247,everyday by spinning the roulette, you can earn points that you can use to a number betting game. if you win the roll, you'll win double the points you bet. This site boast a lot of immos and arcanas you can redeem.Highly recommended.
5. Tremor Games
This site may not have much like immos and arcanas but when it comes to item redeeming, it's like instant noodles. Much like Gametame when it comes earning points but way to different in item redeeming coz you 'll get your items fast. This site is a must join.
I've seen and tried other sites that also offers FREE DOTA 2 items but I highly recommended the above for these are pure simple and free (some required activation fee). All you have to invest is a small amount of your time.
By clicking the site names, you'll be directed to my step-by-step guide on how to get FREE DOTA 2 items using these sites.
